At the end of November, 2010, I attended an Education Cluster meeting, a meeting of the minds, of representatives from organizations about education in Haiti. This cluster is led by a UNICEF representative whose job it is to coordinate these meetings. At this meeting I requested assistance from both World Vision and UNICEF in getting some education and play kits for our residence for orphans. The education kits have notebooks, pencils, pens, etc. and the play kits have a volleyball net, volleyballs, soccer balls, and other sports equipment. TODAY IS MARCH 16TH, 2011, AND AFTER REPEATED E-MAILS, PHONE CALLS, AND MORE, H.E.R.O. HAS RECEIVED NOTHING!!!!!
So, do you really want to help make a difference in the lives of street children and orphans? Well, then you can do the following:
Write an e-mail to the following people stating that you are disappointed with their failure to help H.E.R.O. get one education kit and one play kit. Please CC me on any e-mails that you send. You can talk about our program, what we do, and ask them why they can’t do anything for us despite the fact that they are Multi-Million dollar organizations! You don’t have to spend one dollar to make a difference here, just be a voice for the voiceless. Be a voice for the street children and orphans of Haiti.
